Bienvenue en France!
Our staff will meet you at Avignon TGV Station. From here we’ll transfer you to our Hotel in Avignon. We’ll have a lunch where you’ll get a chance to meet your fellow Tour de France fans. Then it’s a short orientation meeting where we’ll run through the plans for the upcoming week. After lunch we will give you chance to check in and enjoy the surroundings, Mercure Pont d’Avignon is located in the historic centre of Avignon, just 100 metres from the Pont d’Avignon and 150 metres from Papal Palace! A welcome cocktail will be followed by dinner in the Hotel.
Day 2
LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Izoard Mont Ventoux
It was 2016 when Froome ran up Mont Ventoux and the race is returning to this beast of Provence! Today we have a mountain to climb! That’s right, our VIP status means we can take our private shuttle up to our VIP viewing area. Even the journey on the closed road, through the hordes of fans, is a unique experience! The atmosphere on a mountain day is a real buzz with fans galore, so you can lap up the energy and excitement, as we always arrive a few hours before. Early afternoon we will head to the VIP Izoard, a 3 tiered VIP viewing area, premium roadside location, free drinks, canapes and live coverage! Today is where you will see who has strong legs as the riders struggle up the steep road, gasping for any seconds they can…
Day 3
LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Departure Village Bollene
Today we head to the Alps! En route we’ll stop in Bollene. As an Official Tour Operator, we have secured a visit of the ‘Team Paddock’ and Departure Village stage start. The area offers fantastic opportunities to get up-close to the riders and Tour celebrities, as well as getting a first-hand view of the inner workings of the Tour de France. It’s one of the most popular moments on our Spectator Trips! Then settle in for the afternoon as we make our way to Les Trois Vallees.
Day 4
LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Izoard Courchevel
Today we wake up in the Alps and stunning mountains, ready for another day of racing. Col de La Loze is the final climb and we’ll be staying in the same village. Take a morning walk up the steep hairpins of the village to get a taste of what’s in store for the cyclists or enjoy the atmosphere as the town prepares for a great day of the Tour! Early afternoon we will set off and return to the VIP Izoard, our 3 tiered VIP viewing area, to watch another spectacular finish, with a different atmosphere in the French Alps.
Day 5
LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Relais Etape
Today we will be in the Relais Etape, situated on a key locatipon on the course. This exclusive area offers a 3 course meal, a free bar, live coverage and commentary, plus entertainment! Even better news is they LOVE Thomson Spectators and spoil us rotten. The premium roadside location will offer amazing opportunities to get some great stress free shots of the riders as they pass by on their gruelling journey. It’s a spectator favourite!
Day 6
Travel to Paris and Dinner Cruise on the Seine
As the teams prepare for another mountain day, we will head to Paris. We’ll transfer to Lyon and hop on the TGV, arriving early afternoon. This gives you plenty of time to settle in and watch the race live from our amazing luxury Hotel! It’s stunning! Enjoy the sights of Paris for the afternoon or recuperate some energy after so much excitement! In the evening we’ll head to the River Seine and enjoy a dinner cruise, through the twinkling sights and sounds of magical Paris.
Day 7
LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Rive Gauche on the Champs Elysees
Good morning Paris! What a city to wake up in. You will have a leisurely morning and get rested before the last day of the Tour de France on the Champs Elysees. Early afternoon we’ll head over to our exclusive Thomson VIP Viewing area, situated on the Champs Elysees. A roadside VIP area, rubbing shoulders with the teams, our own exclusive area complete with food and drink and great seats! It’s fabulous watching the last pass of the caravan, seeing the race as it passes by us 6 times in total! What a once in a lifetime spectacle! After this amazing experience it’s back to our Hotel for our farewell drinks.
Day 8
Au Revoir
After all that excitement it’s time to say goodbye. We hope to see you back in the future. Join us on a Thomson Spectator Trip to the Tour Down Under, Spring Classics or La Vuelta.
