Itinerary Detail

Day 1

Bienvenue en France!

Our staff will meet you at Avignon TGV Station. From here we’ll transfer you in our private shuttle to our hotel in Jausiers.  In a century-old park, the “Castle” of Jausiers has been turned into a Luxury Hotel. We’ll have a late lunch where you’ll get a chance to meet your fellow Tour de France fans. Then it’s a short orientation meeting where we’ll run through the plans for the upcoming week. After lunch we will give you chance to check in and enjoy the surroundings, recharge your batteries and get ready for an action packed week!

Day 2

LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Izoard Super Dévoluy

The return of Super Dévoluy making it 5 times in the Tour! Today we have a mountain to climb! That’s right, our VIP status means we can take our private shuttle up to our VIP viewing area. Even the journey on the closed road, through the hordes of fans, is a unique experience!  The atmosphere on a mountain day is a real buzz with fans galore, so you can lap up the energy and excitement, as we always arrive a few hours before. Early afternoon we will head to the VIP Izoard, a 3 tiered VIP viewing area, premium roadside location, free drinks, canapes and live coverage!  Today is where you will see who has strong legs as the riders struggle up the steep road, gasping for any seconds they can…

Day 3

LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Finish Line Tribune in Barcelonnette

Today is on our doorstep and we make the short journey to Barcelonnette. Capital of the Ubaye Valley, it has a character that is both Southern and Mountainous, with an altitude of 1135m. Pretty colourful facades and pedestrian streets dotted with shops, will welcome us, in this beautiful village. We plan to get there early, as the VIP area is also home to the Zone Technique, where we can often catch the commentators pre race!  Early afternoon we will return to the VIP Izoard, our 3 tiered VIP viewing area, to watch another spectacular finish, with a different atmosphere in the Provence Haute Alpes.

Day 4

A Nice day plus Monaco

As the race heads into the  mountains, we are heading to the coast. The Côte d’Azur, known in English as the French Riviera, is a timeless and beautiful coastline. An area frequented by the jet set, boasting chic resorts such as  Saint Tropez,  Cannes, Cap d’Antibes and  hosting many famed events, including the Paris-Nice, the F1 Monaco Grand Prix and the Cannes Film Festival.  We will take a detour and head to the small country of Monaco . You will have three hours, to explore at your leisure.  Visit the port or head  to Monte Carlo and see the Casino. Then onto  our Hotel in Nice, which is central to the Promenade des Anglais.  You will have a free evening, to explore Nice old Town and pick a restaurant to enjoy dinner. or watch the sunset from the 3rd floor of our stunning Hotel.

Day 5

LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Departure Village in Nice

As an Official Tour Operator, we have secured a visit of the ‘Team Paddock’ and Departure Village stage start. We don’t have far to walk as Nice hosts the Departure Village which allows you to see sponsors and gain VIP entry, perhaps even meeting past winners of the race. Then, it’s onto our favourite (Covid allowing) we will gain access to the paddock. It is where all the cyclists and teams congregate pre-race. The area offers fantastic opportunities to get up-close to the riders and Tour celebrities, as well as getting a first-hand view of the inner workings of the Tour de France. It’s one of the most popular moments on our Spectator Trips! Once the riders head off, you’ll be free to have a late lunch before we head off for a 2 hour early evening cruise, taking in the coastline all the way to Monaco and back, on the jewelled ‘Azure’ blue waters of Mediterranean Sea. We’ll arrive back in time to head for dinner at the Hotel.

Day 6

LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Rive Gauche on Promenade des Anglais

Are you ready to be part of History? Since 1904 the Grande Finale has always been in Paris! Initially on the Parc de Princes trac, since 1975 it’s finish has been on the Champs Elysees. This morning you can have free time to leisurely wander around the promenade or check out the pros on their practise of the Time Trial, that passes by our Hotel twice!  Early afternoon we’ll head over  to our exclusive Thomson VIP Viewing area, situated by the beach on Promenade des Anglais. A roadside VIP area, rubbing shoulders with the teams, our own booth complete with food and drink and great seats! It’s going to be nail gripping as the race is far from over. Who will reign victorious and wear the Maillot Jaune on the French Riviera! What a once in a lifetime spectacle! After this amazing experience it’s back to our Hotel for our farewell drinks.

Day 7

Au Revoir

After all that excitement it’s time to say goodbye. We hope to see you back in the future. Join us on a Thomson Spectator Trip to the  Spring Classics,  Giro D’Italia or La Vuelta.
