Itinerary Detail
Day 1
Welcome to Copenhagen
Our staff will meet you at Copenhagen Kastrup airport. From here we’ll transfer you to our hotel in the centre of Copenhagen! After checking in we’ll have lunch where you’ll get a chance to meet your fellow Tour de France fans. Then it’s a short orientation meeting where we’ll run through the plans for the upcoming week. After lunch we will explore this magnificent city from the water! Glide along the city’s picturesque canals and harbor waters, and soak up stellar views of top Copenhagen attractions. Pass landmarks such as the Amalienborg Palace, the Little Mermaid statue and stunning Copenhagen Opera House; and drift around the canals of the Christianshavn neighborhood past colorful townhouses, cobbled lanes and houseboats. A couple of free hours will allow you to head into the city to explore further.

Day 2
Sweden & the Team Presentation
Today we are going to Sweden! The journey itself is outstanding as we take the fast train across the Öresund Bridge, one of the world’s longest bridges, to Lund. This picturesque small town is one of the oldest cities in Sweden. You can visit Lund cathedral built in 1145 and explore the tiny streets with houses that date back to 1700! After lunch (maybe you can try the famous meatballs?) we will head back to Copenhagen for the Team Presentation! This superb experience will allow you to see all the teams before their gruelling tour, get lots of photos and see every rider take the stage! It’s an amazing pre-race event with a really exciting atmosphere.

Day 3
Breakaway - Roskilde
On a Breakaway day anything can happen! We are heading to the legendary Roskilde, which will see the departure of Stage 2 of this year’s Tour! Famous for its Vikings, Music festival and Gothic Cathedral, it’s a must do in Denmark. Your guides will lead you for the day as we take the local train for the short journey. Upon arrival we will visit the final resting place for Kings and Queens through the last thousand years. The Gothic Cathedral majestically overlooks the city and the Fjord. Then we will head to the Fjord where the famous Viking Museum is situated. You will be given free time to explore and have lunch so feel free to meander through checking out the Viking ships. Co incidentally the famous music festival will also be taking place! We’ll head back to Copenhagen in the afternoon.

Stage 1
Copenhagen > Copenhagen
The Queen Louise Bridge is reputed to be the busiest cycling route in the world. The riders will start the Tour by heading down the time trial start ramp one by one to tackle a circuit within the city that will take them past Tivoli Gardens and the Little Mermaid. There are a handful of bends on a course that’s quite technical, but these shouldn’t prevent the day’s most powerful rider from taking the first yellow jersey.
Stage 2
Roskilde > Nyborg
The Tour’s riders have already savoured the experience of riding over the sea to reach the finish at Zeeland in 2015. On this occasion, the Great Belt crossing is 18 kilometres long and there’s a strong possibility that the riders will have to battle with a gusting wind. The teams that are best adept at dealing with windy conditions will have a tactical card to play. If any of the favourites aren’t vigilant enough, they’ll have good reason to regret the finish.
Stage 3
Vejle > Sønderborg
Although the route never strays far from the coast on the Jutland peninsula, it will be less exposed to the wind than the day before and that should make it easier for the sprinters’ teams to control the race. Before a transfer and an unusually early first rest day, this stage should see the first round in the battle between the sprinters.
