Itinerary Detail
Day 1
Bienvenue en France!
Our staff will meet you at Toulouse airport in the afternoon. From the airport we’ll transfer in our private shuttle to our hotel in Lourdes. We’ll have pre dinner drinks where you’ll get a chance to meet your fellow Tour de France fans, followed by a short orientation meeting where we’ll run through the plans for the upcoming days. After dinner you will have time to explore the town. Well known for its Sanctuaries and being a pilgrimage site and geographically it sits in the foothills of the Pyrenees, situated by the banks of Pave de Gau river. An ideal base for our stay!

Day 2
LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Finish Line Tribune Laruns
Today we’ll witness the thrill of a finish in Laruns! There is a buzz and excitement as the fans, media and the spectacle that is the Tour de France arrive for the finish! We arrive early so that our guide can explain to you the inner workings of the Tour de France and how it’s beamed into the thousands of homes around the world. She’s also good friends with Phil Ligget, so maybe he will have time to say hello before he starts commentating! We will make the most of the day lapping up the atmosphere and joining the crowds’ frivolities before we head to our exclusive VIP area, in the early afternoon, by the finish line. The Izoard is a 3-tiered viewing area with complimentary appetizers, drinks and official TDF photos.. There’s live coverage of the race as we await the riders and take advantage of the free bar, canapes and entertainment, until we see them with our own eyes! On one of the few sprint finishes, who will be the fastest?! You can’t beat the excitement!

Day 3
LIVE Race-Viewing: VIP Relais Etape on the Tourmalet
As the second of 3 epic VIP experiences we have chosen the Relais Etape! Situated in a key location on the course on the Tourmalet, this exclusive area offers a 3 course meal, a free bar, live viewing and commentary, plus entertainment! Even better news is they LOVE Thomson Spectators and spoil us rotten. As Premium VIP partner we are part of the official entourage and can drive up closed roads through hordes of fans – it’s exhilarating! There’s heaps of atmosphere, lots to keep us entertained as we watch the race in luxury as the riders get closer and closer and the excitement builds! The premium roadside location on the mountain will offer amazing opportunities to get some great stress free shots of the riders as they pass by on their way to their gruelling summit. Then it’s back to the live viewing to see who will win today’s stage as they tackle their final climb. A fabulous gift rounds up the day.

Day 4
Day 5
Stage 4
Dax > Nogaro
The stage is set for a rematch between the sprinters, but the hilly terrain of the Gers could also suit a small breakaway group. Their cooperation would have to be total to hold off the peloton, while the finish on the Nogaro motor-racing circuit will provide the stage winner with a success with a rare flavour. The peloton’s speedsters will certainly want to go head to head on the final 800-metre straight.
Stage 5
Pau > Laruns
There’s still time for questions going into the first rendezvous in the mountains. The climbs of the Col de Soudet and Col de Marie Blanque will provide some answers about the form of the contenders for the title, but the terrain isn’t really suitable for big attacks. That said...

Stage 6
Tarbes > Cauterets
The Pyrenean challenge continues on a route where those with ambitions of overall success will have to deal with the Aspin and Tourmalet passes. However, the course through the mountains will also pique the interest of other riders. Those puncheurs who are in good form could still take aim at the Yellow Jersey, as the climb to the Plateau du Cambasque isn’t an insurmountable obstacle, its gradient averaging 5.4% over 16km.

Stage 7
Mont-de-Marsan > Bordeaux
The visit to the department of Landes doesn’t provide much hope for breakaways, as the profile invites the sprinters’ teams to control the race. The two-kilometre finishing straight along the quayside will allow them to stake their claim for victory in the high-speed dash to the finish line near the Place des Quinconces, hailed by the people of Bordeaux as the biggest in France.
Stage 8
Libourne > Limoges
One sprint may follow another, but they’re not necessarily the same. Limoges could produce some surprises as the day’s finish will certainly suit the most explosive sprinters, those capable of powering up a short but difficult climb to claim victory.
